Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 1, 2026
InkEdit is a photo editor that runs entirely on your device. This policy is short because there is little to say: InkEdit does not collect, store, or share any personal data.
What InkEdit does with your photos
- Photos you open are read from your device, edited on your device, and exported to your device. They are never uploaded anywhere.
- InkEdit uses the Android photo picker, so it can only access the specific images you choose — it has no permission to browse your photo library.
- Your original photo is never modified; edits are saved as a new copy only when you export or share.
- When you share a photo that contains identifying metadata (location, camera device, date taken), InkEdit warns you and removes that metadata by default. You can choose to keep it.
What InkEdit does not do
- No accounts, no sign-in.
- No analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs that collect data.
- No network access for your content: editing, recognition of your marks, and text detection all run on-device.
Handwriting recognition model (optional feature)
If you enable the experimental "write commands on the image" feature, a handwriting-recognition model is downloaded once to your device through Google Play services. This is a one-time download of the model itself; your strokes and images are processed on your device and are not sent to Google or anyone else by InkEdit. Google Play services' own terms apply to the download, as with any Play-services-provided component.
Crash reports (only if you choose to send one)
If InkEdit crashes, a technical report is saved on your device only. On the next launch, InkEdit asks whether you want to share it. If you decline, it is deleted. If you accept, the report opens in the Android share sheet and you choose where it goes (for example, email). The report contains the app version, Android version, and the technical error trace — never your photos, edits, or any device identifier. Nothing is ever sent automatically.
Permissions
- Vibration — for the small haptic ticks when you tap a suggestion or accept an edit. That is InkEdit's only permission.
Children
InkEdit does not collect data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of InkEdit ever changes any of the above, this policy will be updated before that version ships, and the change will be called out in the app's update notes.
